Weekend- Ladies Retreat

This past weekend I was able to go to Pioneer camp for a ladies retreat from Coffee Break. It was great to go and spend time with friends. Saturday afternoon some of us decided to start a 1,000 piece puzzle and we worked on it most of the afternoon and into the wee hours of Sunday. We completed it in just under 13 hours, that's with stopping for meals and devotions and other stuff. Once we started we just wanted to complete it. It was crazy. But we got it done.
We had a great speaker at the retreat who spoke about the different hats we as women wear. Daughters, mothers, friends, Christians, etc. The speaker reminded us of the hats that God wants to wear, women of compassion, patience, kindess, forgiveness. It was great to be there and be reminded that we are daughters of the KING. I once heard about a mother who told her teenage daughter, everytime she left the house to go out on dates, or even with friends, that she should remember that she was a daughter of the King. That idea has really stuck in my head and I have even gotten in the habit of reminding my children now and again that they are a prince and princesses of the KING. It's a good reminder for me too.
It was great to come back after a weekend and be able to sleep in the next morning because of a snow day. I really appreciate snow days alot more now that I work at a school. :)

Sounds like a neat weekend, Kim! Thanks for sharing. I haven't attended anything like that for a LONG TIME!! After hearing what you all took away from the weekend, I'd like to look into something like this for myself!

See you in March!!
