So I was reading my sister blog and realized I should update mine. I don't have anything real exciting to say but here goes... I don't feel like vacuuming soooo...
Last thursday I came home from work in the morning and went to bed I was soooo tired and not feeling very well by Friday my throat was really bad and I was thinking I might actually being getting something. I went for lunch with friends to celebrate a birthday. Friday night we had tickets for the Banff International short film festival at the college. It was very cool and I would recommend it to anyone. Al got the tickets as a Christmas present from a client. The longest film was 1 hour and was of a very young couple that biked from China to the Indian ocean over 8000 km in over 5 months, through Tibet and Mongolia. Very interesting. They won first place viewers choice at the festival. The shortest film was done by a 12 yo and was 8 minutes. He had done the whole film himself using lego people and doing many, many still shots and putting it together. It was about a guy and his coffee. Very funny. He made the whole thing in his bedroom. He had a skiier going down the white bed sheets and getting hit by the chairlift. The kid had a great sense of humour and I think that film got more laughs than all the other ones. My favourite creative part was when his lego guy fell out of the boat and is swimming back to the boat. It was just a head on the white bed sheets and it looked like he was swimming. I guess you had to be there. If I could have bought a CD with all the short films we saw I would have and watched them again and again. Better than any movies I have seen in a long time. It was 3 hours in total and we saw about 12 short films. They are touring all over Canada so check out their website and see if you can still get tickets.http://www.banffcentre.ca/mountainculture/tour/canada/locations/ont.asp
Saturday I had hardly any voice and real bad chest cough, Al brought me french toast in bed and I stayed in bed till 10:30. Jacob and I went out and did groceries and went to the mall, he was surprised to see how cheap you can get clothes after Christmas if he didn't get so much for Christmas he would have went on a shopping spree. He's starting really look at prices and pick out all his own clothes. He still likes me to go shopping with him so that's fun. We picked up some kernals popcorn and walked the mall. We picked up some movies to watch at night. When we got home at 2:00 I was wiped out and back to bed. Jacob is a great help putting the groceries away and just doing what he's asked. So far the teen years aren't so bad LOL. Speaking of LOL that's Melissa's new way to laugh. Instead of laughing at a joke or anything funny she just says LOL. "LOL Mom", "very funny Jacob LOL" .
After a good long afternoon nap I was able to plunk myself on the coach and watch a couple of movies.
Sunday I even stayed home from Church and stayed in bed till everyone was home.
Monday I went to work since I only work 3 hours I figured I could probably do it. I managed but I had to skip my Monday night meeting since I was still feeling so tired and feverish. Tuesday I went to work and came home to get ready for a stamper club we did a cool twisting kind of card. It went over well. It was my first stamping thing since Christmas and it was great to get back into it. Today I have turned the corner on this lousy cold I actually am starting to feel just a little bit better, my throat is fine, my voice is almost back and I haven't blown my nose in an hour or so, so things are looking up. Jacob has a basketball game tonight so I'm looking forward to going and Jacob is looking forward to playing. He got a new warm up jersey with his name on it. I will take a picture and post it. It looks great, he says it makes him look tall and skinny I laughed and said "that's what basketball players look like" Melissa just said "LOL" and walked out of the room. OK my post is definitely longer than my sisters and probably more boring so my job here is done. Speaking of job's Al has a going away work party on soon. They rented a room above a downtown waterfront brewery. He was thinking about a speach since they warned him he'll have to say something. He just wants to say "MY WORK HERE IS DONE" and sit down. I am sure he'll say more than that. But for this post all I need to say is "MY WORK HERE IS DONE"

Great post, Kim. They never seem long and boring to me!!
Glad to hear you're feeling better. Must have had something to do with Al's French toast...what a good man you've got there! I'm impressed!!
LOL! Your post was definatly longer, but not more boring. All I had to do was mention the Al Gore movie and I hit boring. Anyway, I like hearing all of the details. Tell Melissa the LOL is almost as good as the "Whatever!"
